On January 01, 2020, the VVF has officially become a central technology platform of the University of Zurich (UZH).
The recognition of the VVF as central technology platform will guarantee the continuity of the Viral Vector Facility and allow the extension of the services offered.
Initially founded in 2014 as a project of the Neuroscience Center Zurich (ZNZ) and financed by the UZH and the ETH Zurich (ETHZ), the VVF started to offer its services in July 2015.
After two rounds of assessment in 2016 and 2018, the Technology Commission of the UZH forwarded its recommendation to the Executive Board of the University to recognize the VVF as its third Central Technology Platform (besides the Center for Microscopy and Image Analysis (ZMB) and the Flow Cytometry Facility) in February 2019. The Executive Board of the University approved this recommendation in April 2019.
The VVF would like to thank the UZH, the ETHZ, the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology (IPT), and the research community for their continuous support!
