The VVF will include the DREADD AAV vectors from Bryan Roth's lab into its viral vector repository. From the repository, AAV preparations are available as 50 µl aliquots. We will successively produce these new AAV vectors and add them to our repository, considering the wishes and needs of our customers. An overview of available DREADD vectors can be found here. Please contact us if you are interested in specific DREADD AAV vectors.
Prof. Bryan Roth (University of North Carolina, https://pdspdb.unc.edu/rothlab/) has developed the Designer Receptors Exclusively Activated by Designer Drugs (DREADDs) (http://pdspit3.mml.unc.edu/projects/dreadd/wiki/WikiStart) in order to study the function of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR). DREADDs are engineered GPCRs that can be activated by small, drug-like molecules that are otherwise inert. In vivo, DREADDs can be efficiently expressed by AAV vectors.
